Refresh an existing border

An established border does not always need starting again. You may want to keep the plants you enjoy and add new planting where there are gaps. Tell us what you want to retain, which parts look bare and whether the aim is more colour, a fuller border or a simpler arrangement.

Flowers and shrubs need room for their mature size, rather than just the space they occupy in their pots. When discussing the job, include the border’s approximate dimensions, how much sun it receives and any plants already in place.
